DESCRIPTION:We have a tradition of beginning the year in God’s Word together. We do a four-week Bible study (one for men and one for women) that includes a reading plan. This year we will be studying The Upper Room Discourse in John 13-16\, which is also the text for our spring preaching series. \nEach week will be a mix of sharing takeaways from the reading\, small and large group discussion\, teaching\, and fellowship. This is a great opportunity to meet new people while exploring these great chapters together. \nMen are meeting on Tuesday mornings (starting Jan. 23) and Women on Wednesday mornings (starting Jan. 24)\, both from 6:30-8:00am in the chapel at University Avenue. DESCRIPTION:Our mission at Providence is to help each other believe and apply the gospel in every area of life. One of our primary strategies for doing that is our gathered worship on Sundays. Therefore\, by helping to lead the congregation in praise of our Triune God\, our musicians play a vital role in the mission of our church. We do this through a formational liturgy\, and we rely heavily on our musicians to help create a Gospel-formed service with undistracted excellence. \nOur weekly worship service at Providence is a family gathering\, and we desire for our music team to be comprised wholly of musicians within our church family who are using their gifts to build up the body. Toward that end\, we are always looking to add to our music team this year! SUMMARY:1 Corinthians Inductive Study
DESCRIPTION:As we have done each year in our church\, we want to begin 2023 by getting in the Word together. I think we all desire to read the Bible more\, but one of the challenges we face is how to go about understanding what the Bible is saying. This study is going to focus on walking through a process for studying the Bible\, that you will then be able to take and apply to other books or passages. \nThis year we will be studying four selected passages from 1 Corinthians 11-14 (the same section of Scripture we are preaching from on Sundays). Each week will be a mix of large group teaching\, break out group discussions\, and personal sharing about what God is teaching us. This will be a great opportunity to get to know other men and women in our church\, while exploring these great chapters together. \nWomen are meeting on Tuesday mornings (starting Jan. 24) and men on Wednesday mornings (starting Jan. 25)\, both from 6:30-8:00am in the chapel at University Avenue.
