SUMMARY:1 Corinthians Inductive Study
DESCRIPTION:As we have done each year in our church\, we want to begin 2023 by getting in the Word together. I think we all desire to read the Bible more\, but one of the challenges we face is how to go about understanding what the Bible is saying. This study is going to focus on walking through a process for studying the Bible\, that you will then be able to take and apply to other books or passages. \nThis year we will be studying four selected passages from 1 Corinthians 11-14 (the same section of Scripture we are preaching from on Sundays). Each week will be a mix of large group teaching\, break out group discussions\, and personal sharing about what God is teaching us. This will be a great opportunity to get to know other men and women in our church\, while exploring these great chapters together. \nWomen are meeting on Tuesday mornings (starting Jan. 24) and men on Wednesday mornings (starting Jan. 25)\, both from 6:30-8:00am in the chapel at University Avenue. His 2021 release You Are Not Your Own was honored by the Gospel Coalition as one of the best books of the year\, and we agree! With clarity and insight\, Noble explores the disorder of a society that believes we belong to ourselves\, and then reframes the way we understand ourselves in light of this simple truth: we belong to God. This will be a half day seminar aimed at equipping our church to understand and engage one of the most pervasive beliefs of our day. \nJoin us at 8:30 for coffee and tacos. DESCRIPTION:On Good Friday\, we will gather to remember the death of Jesus. The Innocent One was punished; the Healer was wounded; the Teacher was silenced; the Son was forsaken. On Easter morning we will celebrate the empty tomb\, but on Good Friday we remember the wrath of God poured out on Christ\, who suffered once for sins\, the righteous for the unrighteous\, that he might bring us to God (1 Peter 3:18). Children are more than welcome\, but no childcare will be provided.
