The Gospels are our only contemporary accounts of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, the most significant person in world history. But they are also some of the least understood, even by most Christians. It leads us to ask, how should we apply the teachings of Jesus? What do the parables mean? Did Jesus claim to be God? Who wrote them and why are they trustworthy?

The purpose of this class is to help you to understand the four Gospels—their genres, key themes, overall structure, and unifying message: that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who died for our sins and was raised for our justification, and anyone who believes in him will be saved.
