Missional Partnerships

Fostering Hope Austin seeks to equip and empower churches and families to transform the lives of foster and adopted children so that all children from hard places find loving and healing families. Providence has several GCs and families that have been trained as trauma-informed babysitters through FHA, as well as several families actively involved with the foster care system.

Pastor John Monger started International Restoration Church (IRC) in a Nepali refugee camp for the Bhutanese. From there he began training pastors, preaching the gospel and planting churches in Bhutan, Nepal, and India. In 2009, Pastor John, his wife Tia, and his son, Joshua, received refugee status and moved to the United States. Soon after, they planted IRC in Austin, which continually trains pastors and sends leaders out to plant churches for the needy throughout the world. Providence supports IRC financially, in prayer, and through relationship. Take a few minutes to watch John tell his own story of coming to faith in Jesus, moving to the U.S., and planting IRC.

Mobile Loaves and Fishes (MLF) is a local outreach ministry that seeks to cultivate community, promote dignity, and provide food and clothing to our homeless neighbors here in Austin. They do this through three core programs: Mobile Loaves & Fishes food trucks, Community First! Village, and Community Works. Providence regularly serves with MLF food distribution through a few of our Gospel Communities. In addition, we participate in various church-wide partnership events at Community First! Village every year, like working in the garden, providing Saturday brunch and games, and a Christmas Carol sing-along.

In 2009, through God’s sovereignty and grace, the TruCare Pregnancy Center was founded to build bridges of trust with new mothers before abortion was seen as their only option. In 2015, the TruCare Network was able to open a clinic for women to offer low-to-no cost STD testing, pregnancy tests, and sonograms. Ultimately the TruCare team is dedicated to caring for the unborn and their families, and showing them the love of Jesus. Whether it’s through mentoring, advocating, praying, or teaching these new mothers, TruCare builds loving relationships with all their clients.

One of our international ministry partners is a children’s home outside of Guatemala City called Casa Bernabé, which means “house of comfort.” It is a beautiful 13-acre campus, and it is home to more than 100 children. All of the children at Casa Bernabé come out of difficult living situations – some are orphans, others have been abandoned, others abused. Each child belongs to a loving, nurturing family made up of house parents and their own children, where they experience first-hand the love of Jesus. We take annual trips to Casa Bernabé to support their work and ministry, build relationships with the kids and families, and help with any maintenance or beautification projects.

For generations, Austin’s Eastside community has been stuck in a cycle of poverty. Children, families, homeless, adults, and elderly all facing incredible challenges as a result.

Mission Possible Austin offers a variety of programs and resources to help those who have been inflicted by poverty. With the right support and resources Austin’s poor have an opportunity to receive food, care, better health, have their spiritual needs met, and get an education.

For decades, All God’s Children has been meeting on Wednesdays at University Avenue Church of Christ. All God’s Children is a ministry to those experiencing homelessness where we gather to share a meal, worship, and study God’s word together.
