Our DNA

Every church displays the gospel in unique ways as God shapes a community around the message of Jesus and His kingdom. Our heartbeat is gospel centrality in all of life, which has three aspects: content, community, and cause.

We long to be the kind of people who have firsthand knowledge of Jesus (learners), who experience the love of Christ through each other (family), and who are compelled by his love for others (missionaries).

The gospel is the good news that God saves sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. In a gospel-centered church, “the word of the truth” is heard and believed (Eph. 1:13), preached and prayed and sung and lived! (Col. 3:16-17).

Gospel Community

Family

In Christ we are adopted into the family of God (Eph. 1:5), and we are members of Christ’s body (1 Cor. 12:27). In a gospel-centered church, people experience the power of the gospel through one another’s presence, gifts, and love (Eph. 4:11-16).

Gospel Cause

Missionary

In all that we do and say, we are “ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us” (2 Cor. 5:20). In a gospel-centered church, people pray and work for God’s kingdom to come and his will to be done “on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt 6:10).

When a person or church gets “out of step” with the gospel, it is usually because they emphasize one of these aspects at the expense of the other two. Our vision for a full expression of gospel-centrality is reflected in our mission, values, and core strategies.

Our Mission – What do we do?

We help each other believe and apply the gospel in every area of life.

Our Values – Why do we do it?

The gospel changes everything:

  • It changes me. I used to go my own way, but now I am a disciple of Jesus (1 Pet. 2:25)
  • It changes us. Once we were not a people, but now we are God’s people. (1 Pet. 2:10)
  • It changes the world. The gospel comes to us and moves through us, bearing fruit and increasing everywhere it goes. (Col. 1:6)

Our Core Strategies: How do we do it?

Our basic philosophy is to keep things simple and intentional. We have six core strategies that help us believe and apply the gospel in every area of life:
