Doctrine of Christ
While most religions focus on a system of belief or a set of rules to follow, Christianity stands alone in this respect: It’s centered on a person—the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, we must think carefully about Jesus’ question to his disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” (Mark 8:29) Indeed, this question takes on even greater weight when we consider all the different answers that people have given to that question across the centuries (and in our own day).
In this class Sunday morning class, we’ll explore the doctrine of Christ to arrive at a biblically faithful and orthodox answer to Jesus’ question. How does the Bible lead us to a genuine knowledge of who Jesus is (his person) and what he’s done (his work)? And what language has the church developed in order to speak faithfully about the Lord Jesus?
