Guatemala Trip 2026
We are looking forward to taking a trip this coming Winter (February 11-16) to visit two of our international partnerships in Guatemala: Casa Bernabé and Iglesia Reforma. The plan is to leave the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 11 and return Monday late afternoon, Feb. 16 (over Presidents’ Day weekend).
The cost of the trip:
- Your plane ticket. This should be somewhere between $500-$800.
- Your stay and meals at Casa Bernabé. This will be $325 total ($65/night), which you will need to pay immediately upon registering to secure your spot.
- Incidentals – things like airport parking, snacks, and possibly one meal away from Casa Bernabé.
What we will be doing:
- Mostly helping at Casa Bernabé, which will depend on their current needs and the skills of our group. They often have work projects for us to jump in on and ways to help with the kids.
- Developing relationships with the children and staff at Casa Bernabé.
- Visit Iglesia Reforma to worship with one of our partner churches on Sunday.
English is used by many at the orphanage and there are translators to assist, so speaking Spanish is definitely not required. We do not recommend children under the age of 9 to go on this trip. Children ages 9-18 do require a parent or designated chaperone to accompany them.
Register here. If you have further questions about what we will be doing on the trip, please contact John Griffin (deacon of international partnerships). And if you are interested in raising funds to cover costs, please contact Kaitlyn Dunn.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: You will purchase your plane tickets individually, but we will send out an email directing you to the EXACT flight to purchase at toward the end of November. It is important that everyone is on the same flights so we can coordinate transportation to and from the airport in Guatemala.
