How do we grow spiritually? Some point to spiritual disciplines. Others to whole-hearted obedience, putting off the old self and putting on the new. Or perhaps letting God shape our minds and hearts through his word. And all of these are true, but alone they are incomplete! The goal of this class is to pull these different threads together into a single unified tapestry: We grow spiritually by understanding and applying the gospel to every area of life (see Col. 2:6).

Each week will consist of both understanding (theology) and applying (practice). We will explore some facet of gospel-driven growth and then apply that truth (in class and through homework) using various tools and practices. The aim of this class is not merely to help us develop a sound theology of Christian formation, but also to help us apply it to our own lives in a way that results in noticeable, God-given spiritual growth.
