Heather Reimer

Heather moved to Texas 10 years ago from Omaha, Nebraska as part of the core team of Providence Church. As a social worker, she finds joy in her role as deacon of benevolence and loves to see the church come together to meet needs across the city of Austin. Heather works as the director of programming for a national healthcare nonprofit and enjoys teaching piano lessons in her spare time.

Brandon Reyes

Brandon is the deacon of our partnership with Fostering Hope Austin. He grew up in Idaho, met his wife while teaching in the Bronx, and has been living and working as an engineer in Austin since 2010. He and his wife, Janice currently have three teenagers, a girl and two boys. His family has been involved in the world of foster care and adoption for nearly a decade. He is passionate about caring for people in/from hard places, mentoring others, and watching the gospel take root and change lives.

John Scharbach

John grew up in Chicago, studied classics in Santa Fe, and moved to Austin in 2008 to study law. He and his wife Chelsea have been members at Providence since 2013. He decided to explore ministry because he is passionate about seeing God transform people through His Word. John serves our church in the areas of Gospel Communities, equipping, Recovery, and overall content development. John graduated from St. John College (B.A.), the University of Texas School of Law (J.D.), and is currently studying computer science at Georgia Tech (M.S.).

David Uliana

David was raised in Roanoke, Virginia. After studying computer engineering (and mediocre football) at Virginia Tech, he made the trek to Austin and Providence Church in 2014. As a deacon of local partnerships, his primary focus is supporting All God’s Children, a weekly ministry aiming to feed, engage, and disciple those experiencing homelessness. David loves building software, spending time with his Texan wife, Claire, and trying out overly-complicated recipes.

Abbey White

Abbey grew up in North Carolina and went to UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating in 2014, she moved to Austin “for a couple years” to live in a fun new city. She is now happy to call Austin home, and enjoys all the food, activities, and community Austin offers with her husband, Malcolm. She loves seeing the local church meet the needs of its congregation and the city, and is happy to serve Providence as a deacon of finance and benevolence.
